Billabong Furnace Wetsuits have undergone an overhaul in 2019 in that the Furnace range has been upgraded into the Carbon series however the Furnace Lining itself has been carried onto all high-end wetsuits as it's their most effective thermal lining ever produced.
Furnace Lining, like all thermal linings, works on the basic principle of making you warmer by keeping you drier. This notion is executed by way of water-repelling fibres that work to pull water away from your skin, therefore leaving your skin drier which makes you warmer because your body can more effectively heat the internal panels.
As the Furnace Lining has depth to it, due to the complexity of the weave, water will stream down within the lining itself. This lets water move down through the suit, gravity propelled, when you're sitting on your board and riding.
